Woodsball is played in outdoor fields with natural obstacles and features, and it’s all about speed and stealth. It’s also the most popular game in today’s paintball scene, perfect for anyone who wants to test their skills and get away from the arena.

But here are a few things you should never do in woods balls, such as don’t wear a bright jersey and dark lens.

So, I’ll share some of the essential tips to keep in mind when out in the woods.

Things You Should Never Do In Woods Ball

Whether you’re playing paintball in a city or a forest, there’s always the risk of encountering wildlife.

If you and your team are ever unlucky enough for the encounter to turn into an attack, here are some tips that might help you stay alive and maintain your composure.

  1. Playing Without Ankle Protection

The first thing is to make sure you are protecting your ankles. I don’t know how many times have been on the woods ball field, somebody sprains their ankle breaks or separates their foot from their leg bone.

But the thing you should be doing is making sure that you protect your feet and your ankles.

So invest in a good shoe that gives you some ankle protection. Kiley’s Under Armour cleats are where you want to ensure you protect your ankles from tree roots and other things.

You might be running through the woods ball field. Something like this provides ankle protection and is lightweight and comfortable, so you can run around in this all day.

  1. Don’t Wear Bright Color Jersy

The second thing I see people always do while playing Woods ball is wearing some bright colors. Now I know you want to show off that sweet Jersey bot, but it will give you away.

I’ve done this before just because, you know, I want to show off my extraordinary Jersey and everything like that, and I want people to see, hey, look at this neat Jersey I have.

But when it comes down to Woods ball, you want to blend in with the elements. That means wearing subdued colors, whether brown, green, tan, or depending on where you’re.

Black and Gray will also work because there are a lot of shadows when it comes to woods ball. So you want to blend in with your surroundings, especially for playing that slow game.

  1. Don’t wear Dark Lens

The third thing is wearing a dark lens or reflective lens. When you wear a darker reflective lens, you can’t see the enemy usually as well as they can see you.

So if someone is chilling, the shadows are chilling towards the edge of the field, and you’re scanning looking for people you’re not able to see as well as someone else.

Also, if you’re chilling on the edge of the field, making your way up trying to get across enemy lines. Something like this isn’t going to help you.

I don’t know how often I’ve seen this looking back at me. Try to be sneaky guess what?

This reflective lens gave them away as cool as it looks. I’m telling you some companies like GI Sportz and h Jeremy and others who make excellent reflective lenses.

Now, if you’re playing open, play like out of the field. This stuff doesn’t apply to what I’m talking about. Apply to an open field. This applies to when you’re playing in the woods with trees and crap all over the place, bushes tall grass.

You’re going to want to have an HD lens. I’m telling you you’ll be able to see them more accessible than if you wore a reflective or dark lens. Try to stay away from those lenses. They’re going to make your woods ball experience that much more difficult.

  1. Try Not To Shootout

The fourth thing that bothers me in woods ball is when people talk when they’re already dead. They’re like, well, man, how’d you get there, and it blew my cover. Boards are like yeah, the guy’s right over there.

I just spent the last 20 minutes trying to get down there so I can light you guys up. So please do me a favor and don’t keep away from my position.

That is a huge pet peeve of mine, and I will call you out on it. I don’t think its super cool that you give away my position because you got shout out in your little butt heard about it, so please, next time you’re playing woods ball.

You get shot out by somebody who worked their ass off to get up the field. Do not give all your position. Walk off nice and chill if you want to compliment them after the rounds are over.

  1. Don’t Cheat

Cheating Woods ball is the absolute last place. You want to cheat if people are using pumpkins, first strike rounds, people using all sorts of different markers, and people just playing the game all sorts of stuff in woods ball is where we all start.

Do not cheat in woods ball. If you get shot, that could’ve been a pump player. Just threading the needle and landing a shot, and you took that away from him, or it’s a sniper.

You get a fantastic feeling when you see yourself mark another player. When you hit that person, you see the marked man. That’s one of the best feelings ever. Woods balls are not the place to be cheating.

You shouldn’t be cheating at all, especially in what’s ball scenario ball rec ball all those things you should not be cheating it ruins the game for everybody.

FAQs

Can you use a speedball gun for woodsball?

Yes, but it’s not recommended. The speedball speed will probably run off too quickly, and you’ll injure other players. A better choice would be a woodsball marker like the UTG Recon Mk2 or a tank gun like the M4/M16.

What’s the difference between speedball and woodsball?

Speedball involves running up and down the field. The object is to get the paint on a player or his equipment. In woodsball, you can shoot anyone or anything that isn’t you.

Can I use metal barrels to make my speedball gun?

No, they would be too hard to control and probably break easily. The only part of the gun that needed to be changed would be the stock and the barrel attachment system.

What color does a red ball look like?

White to gold, depending on the temperature and humidity. A more durable red will be lighter in color. A yellow or orange ball looks brown.
